Personal Care

Our personal care includes tasks that are personal to the service user, such as bathing, showering, dressing, and toileting – extending to continence management and general laundry, meal preparation and feeding, and other day-to-day duties to keep you living well in the comfort of your own home.

People may require personal care for a number of reasons. Assistance with personal care may be temporary while a person is recovering from an injury or illness or may be permanent, and is required for the remainder of their lives.

Personal Care services may include:

Assistance with self-care, such as grooming, bathing, dressing, and using the toilet
Enabling safety at home by assisting with ambulation, transfer (eg, from bed to wheelchair, wheelchair to toilet), and fall prevention
Assistance with meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, errands, medication reminders, and escorting to appointments
Companionship and engaging in hobbies and activities
Supervision for someone with dementia or Alzheimer's disease

People Who May Need Personal Care Include:

Service Users who are recovering from an illness or accident
Service Users with a long term chronic condition (e.g. heart failure, diabetes, HIV/AIDS)
Frail Service Users or those of advanced age
Service Users who are permanently disabled
End of life Service Users
Infants whose caretakers need assistance caring for them
